Flintshire North Review

Good Morning Flintshire North ๐ŸŒง๏ธ

R2 and NPT are with you today. 70 calls for service in the last 24 hours - 13 of which were P0 ๐Ÿšจ (Attended on Lights & Sirens)

๐Ÿก 5 x Domestic Incidents
๐Ÿš‘ 4 x Concern for Safety Incidents
โœ–๏ธ 4 x Anti Social Behaviour Incidents

๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚๏ธ 2 arrests in the last 24 hours, with one in for breakfast. ๐Ÿ“œ 1 for a list of offences - Possession of Class A, Concerned in Supply of Class B and two assaults. ๐Ÿ“ž 1 for threats to kill.

๐Ÿ’ป 44 incidents have come over to our system for a write up, and 8 have been recorded as crimes (so far)

๐Ÿฅฑ A very common thing online at the moment, is the trope that the police are too busy arresting people for "nasty comments" on social media to actually do any work - We absolutely do arrest people for things they put on social media, but those matters will either be threats to kill, inciting violence or hate related. We do not arrest people for calling each other names, if we did we likely wouldn't have the capacity to do anything else. These matters are reported to us a lot, and the reporters are advised to report it to the relevant social media platform.

๐Ÿง Hate Related matters are a force priority, but there seems to be some misinformation around what a "hate" incident is in the context of policing.
โœ–๏ธ Someone hates you and is abusive to you- Not hate related
โœ… Someone is abusive towards you because of your race - Hate related
โœ–๏ธ Being a registered sรจx offender, is not a protected characteristic, so if someone refers to you as one - Not hate related   (If I don't use an E with an accent on it, the post is flagged)

โœ… Someone targets you because of your religion, sexual orientation, or transgender identity - Hate related.

๐Ÿง Some things aren't Hate Crimes, but they're hate incidents, so what the person did or said wasn't a criminal offence but demonstrated hostility based on race, religion, disability, sexual orientation or gender. There's some more information available here https://www.cps.gov.uk/crime-info/hate-crime

๐ŸŽค I'll get down off my soap box now, and get to everyone's favourite part of the review - Today It's PD Logan who's chauffeur knows his way around his photo editing, a suspect who assaulted officers hid in his house and continued to kick off making threats towards the taser officer on scene, but on arrival of PD Logan quickly surrendered, how disappointing for poor Logan! (Not in Flintshire North)

Today I have some files to complete for another drug driver who's returned over, and for a "outraging public decency" incident where, in the middle of the day in a busy services a male decided to urinate, right next to our marked police car? He was shocked when we wouldn't just let him go because he believed "it wasn't that big of an issue" - Have a wonderful day, Stay Safe - 3604.
